The beach was alive with activity all day as the colourful Hobie fleets dominated the waters and shores of the Swan River off Nedlands Yacht Club.
The famed seabreeze fought with the dominant easterly all day . . . & finally won . . . at midnight!!!
Day one of racing saw two races in the shifty easterly produce a three way tie at the top of the 16 fleet and a two way tie in the Tigers. Belinda Zanesco and Brigett Waterhouse are sitting pretty at the head of the Women's fleet with 2 bullets.
Predictions for the next few days look like more east and hard head work for the sailors.
